Teresa Gameiro is a Portuguese brand that combines tradition with the contemporary. It explores the potential of textile recycling and the recovery of raw materials and local know-how to create ecologically sustainable products with emphasis on quality and design.
By combining weaving with textile recycling, Teresa Gameiro works closely with weavers of Leiria – Fatima region, these being the last members of a generation of family weavers, supporting and promoting the textile production and the creation of local employment.
This exhibition will feature recent work, inspired by and integrated within the fields of fashion, accessories, interior and lifestyle.
Ana Teresa Neves
Ana Teresa Neves graduated in Fashion Design from Oporto Fashion Academy (Academia De Moda do Porto) followed by Modatex, in Lisbon, where she took a course in clothing manufacturing.
After a great 3 months internship in Venice with the pair “Os Burgueses” through the DaVinci internship programme, she worked with the brand Barena Venezia where she enjoyed great raw materials and the opportunity to develop some showpieces for the brand.
When she returned to Portugal, she fell in love with textile recycling, the way her grandmothers did, and has since been researching about the subject along with the weaving process.
Currently, she owns and design for the brand Teresa Gameiro.
